What makes you proud of you Society today?

Although Colombia is a country impacted by violence and its consequences, there are three things make me proud of my society.

The first of these are the peasants, they are an important part for the food supply in Colombia; the peasants have tolerated a war and historical impunity, but they haven't abandoned their land voluntarily. Although the economy has changed (with the TLC) the peasants resist and continue cultivating their land in defense of their rights.

The second thing is the Cultural Diversity, we are a country with a cultural wealthy background, for example: the Indigenous Communities which are a culture that prioritize the respect and the preservation of the nature, I feel proud of their thought of ecological care.

The third thing is the solidarity with animals, I admire the people that help abandoned dogs and cats in the streets. It is act to appreciate, because there isn't for these people a different benefit to help. There isn't monetary revenue only the satisfaction that these animals have a better life.

Colombia a beautiful country with human quality and nature, a country that needs a better present for his peasants, a country that deserves pride of all.
